Andy Walker
I first started in the Lifting and Safety Industry over 13 years ago, and have been exposed to a variety of fields from mining, processing, manufacturing, engineering, local councils, utilities services, power, and large projects both in Queensland and interstate. My experiences as a crane operator-rigger and confined space/heights worker have given me knowledge on the practical application and also bolstered my understandings of the codes of practice and the Australian Standards and how they apply to the industry.
I have worked with many lifting companies in Queensland and have gained useful hands-on exposure both as a technician and with the face-to-face side of the business. I have also learnt that customer service, quality of workmanship and value for money have become more important now more so than ever before.
With all my previous experiences, versatility, commitment and reliability I have quite a lot to offer.
Over the last few years I have managed to build on my knowledge with credits from the University Of Queensland in Structural Engineering, Conducted Training with LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association), Restricted Electrical Licensing as well as certificates in Welding, NDT and also conducting further training in Magnetic Particle Inspection, I encourage all to continue their path in education and training, as we work towards a safer workplace for all Australians.
I am impeccably presented, have a professional can-do attitude. My communication and
organisational skills are of the highest level. These attributes and my ability to engage people on a personal and professional level make Walker Certification stand out from the rest.
I found myself unemployed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and as I am “the glass is half-full guy”, I’ve turned Covid19 into an opportunity for a fresh change and new challenges.
Quality is the pursuit of excellence, striving to be the best in the industry, it is meeting the needs of our customers and suppliers, this is Walker Certification.
